DragonBall Fighterz Open Beta starts Jan 14

DragonBall Fighterz will be released officially Jan. 26, but open beta will begin Jan. 14. Players can hone their skills.

If you pre-ordered the game digitally, then you will get into open beta on Jan. 13/14  at 12 AM PST. You can already preload the client as of Jan. 12. You will need an additional DLC in order to be able to get to the open beta, search the store for “DBFighterzBETA” in order to find “Dragon Ball FighterZ Open Beta Early Access.”


You would need to download that DLC in order to activate your access to the early access open beta. The open beta will run for 48 hours, so it is something you should take advantage of. You can download it from the Microsoft Store.

Some of the features you would see in the Beta are:


  • World Match
  • Battle Tutorial
  • Rankings
  • Replay Channel
  • Stamps (Limited Set)
  • Lobby Avatar customization (Limited Customization)
  • 7 Stages
  • 11 Characters: SS Goku, SS Vegeta, Gohan (Adult), Frieza, Cell, Kid Buu, Krillin, Piccolo, Nappa, Android 18, and Beerus
  • 2 dramatic scenes that can occur before or after fights between Goku and Frieza under certain circumstances


You’ll also have Arcade Mode & Story Mode. In Arcade Mode, you will fight waves and waves of enemy teams with the intent of getting the highest rank. You will have 3 courses: the Snake Way, the Extreme Gravity Spaceship, and the Hyperbolic Time Chamber course. Each course will feature a variety of enemy teams.

In Story Mode, you will have story arcs. There will be 3 different ones, as you progress you will learn more about your combat basics as well as get stronger. In your travels, you can run into old friends as well as some new enemies. Rescuing an ally gives you some new characters, encountering a boss advances the storyline for you.
