Fallout 76 Announced As ‘Entirely Online’ E3 2018

Fallout 76, Bethesda’s latest in the Fallout franchise. Set in West Virginia, you are amongst a group of survivors who will be the first to exit Vault 76.

300 years after signing the Declaration of Independence in 1776, date now 2076, you awake after over sleeping to an almost-empty vault.  The overseer’s announcement is playing a recorded message of Reclamation day and it’s your time to leave the vault into a vast and surprisingly green setting.

Fallout 76 is said to be four times the size of Fallout 4 with a whole new world and landscape design. New beasts and machines have been added along with a truck load of folklore legends from West Virgina. Not only will you encounter beast and machine but now, for the first time, every other survivor that left the vault before you will be a real online player. Now these players can be hostile or are able to team up to explore West Virginia in co-op. This isn’t some MMO type game with 100’s or 1000’s of players online in your world at once, but will hold several dozen in small instances with fully dedicated servers. Theres no need to panic, Fallout 76 can still be explored solo, Players can freely progress, quest and level as they would do in every other Fallout. No matter what you’re doing your progress will always go with you.

West Virginia will consist of six distinct regions each with its own setting and landscape design. Around the map there will be nuclear bunkers players can gain control of a nuclear weapon to launch out into an area they desire, whether it be a rival camp or a random setting. Exploring the aftermath of the destruction, players can search and gain access to rare resources to help them survive the wasteland. Fallout 76 has a new CAMP system (Construction and Assembly Mobile Platform) which allows players to build small settlements anywhere they please in West Virginia.

Along with the announcement Todd showed off the awesome collection edition called the ‘Power Armor Edition’ which will be in stores when Fallout 76 releases on the 14th November 2018! Not only will it come with a wearable Power Armor Helmet but a glow in the dark map. And now I want it just for the map! Along with the special edition, pre-ordering will also allow you to participate in the Beta testing phase.
