Those eagerly waiting for the Red Dead Redemption prequel this spring will have to have to wait a little longer. Rockstar has issued an official statement on the game’s release date and to everyone’s disappointment, it has been pushed back to a Fall release on October 26th.
We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.
Rockstar left us with a few new screenshots from the game as a consolation prize. It is looking impressive, which only makes the delay more painful.
Details about Red Dead Redemption 2 are still sparse and we have yet to see any gameplay, but what we do know is it is set before the events of Red Dead Redemption. The last official trailer, which was released last September, gave us a preview of the story.
We learned that Arthur Morgan will be the central character and he is working with Dutch Van der Linde and his gang on their rise to infamy. It looks like we can expect bank and train robberies, an expansive map, and lots of gunplay.
Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available for PS4 and Xbox One October 26th.
