Every now and then a brand new game IP comes to consoles and shows the potential to shake up an entire genre. That’s exactly what Assetto Corsa looks on course to do with racing simulators.
Today the hype that surrounds this already hotly anticipated racer shifts up another gear, with 505 Games and Kunos Simulazioni revealing this latest trailer, simply titled “Engineered to Perfection,” and I have to say, perfection is a pretty accurate description of what we see. It appears to be visually flawless and I for one am really excited for it’s Xbox One release on April 22nd.
“505 Games and Kunos Simulazioni launch the latest trailer for the console version of leading driving simulation “Assetto Corsa” – entitled “Engineered to Perfection.” Created using real manufacturer data and telemetry, the game provides pure driving realism in every area, from bespoke handling, to precision physics, to nearly 100 cars in meticulous detail. Drive dream cars from leading manufacturers on laser scanned real tracks, in the most realistic racing simulation there is.”
Finally a worthy competitor to the Forza franchise. Here’s what Assetto Corsa is bringing to the track:
- Over one hundred high-performance cars, including the Team Lotus 98T, the Pagani Zonda R, the Ferrari LaFerrari, the Mercedes C9 and the McLaren MP4-12C GT3
- Over twenty different track configurations, including famed courses such as Silverstone Circuit, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Autodromo Nazionale Monza, and Nürburgring-Nordschleife
- Single and Multiplayer racing modes, with customizable Race Weekends, preset Challenges or full-scale Career Mode
- Refined race-craft AI, with up to twenty-four cars competing for the podium places in the PC version of the game
We hope to bring you a full review on release, so stay tuned to Xbox Sector! For more on the game in the mean-time, drop by the official website.
